Department of anaesthesiology and intensive therapy

The Department of anaesthesiology and intensive therapy is functioning from 1987.

The Head of this department is doctor-anaesthesiologist Radkevich Natalia. She has preparation on the courses of VOOZ for scientifically evidential medicine. Most of the doctors have more high and first qualifying categories and big experience of work.

Each year nearly 600 women who belong to the groups of high perinatal risk are the patients of this department. These are pregnant women and postpartum women with obstetric and extragenital pathologies. The department uses all modern methods of diminishing sickly feelings during normal and pathological deliveries and operative interferences: general, spinal, epidural anaesthesia (near 900 in a year).

All the methods of anaesthesia are conducted with the severe observance of the protocols accepted in world practice after principles of evidential medicine. We use single epidural sets, needles for spinal anaesthesia, endotraheal tubes, to prevent any complications of anaesthesia.

Modern non-invasive monitoring of vitally important functions of pregnant women is used during intensive care and reanimation with the help of pulseoxymetres and multycomponent monitors. The doctors of the department conduct consultation work in the city and different regions on the questions of anaesthesia and intensive therapy in obstetrics.

Prophylactic direction of work allows to warn progress of most complications of obstetric and extragenital pathology.
