Extragenital and Obstetric Pathology Department

The chief of the department is Larisa Zaika. She is the head of this department since 2004. She got training on the courses of WHO evidential medicine.

In the department there is an urgent brigade\group of obstetricians who provide all-day medical assistance. The staff includes a therapeutist, a cardiologist, a doctor of ultrasound examination, an oculist, a neurologist, an endocrinologist, a doctor of functional diagnostics.

Different methods of diagnostics and treatment are applied in the department, such as complete clinical-laboratory examination, perinatal infections examination, ultrasound examination of the fetus and detection of its biophysical profile, EKG, KTG and other. Modern principles of antenatal examination based on evidential medicine are intensively introduced.

The «School of Responsible Paternity and Maternity» successfully functions in the department and aims at preparing pregnant women and their husbands to delivery which will be carried out according to modern perinatal technologies. A psychotherapeutist and a medical psychologist conduct daily lectures and seminars on preparation to a delivery and breastfeeding and provide individual consultations to the married couples.

The department has the equipped chambers for 2-4 women. They are very comfortable and they are close to home atmosphere. At a pregnant woman will a single chamber with improved conditions of stay is proposed.

Prophylactic direction of work allows to increase the percentage of the uncomplicated deliveries, breastfeeding of infants of real value.
