Tokmenko Ljudmila is a head of this department. She has a preparation on the courses of WHO evidential medicine and modern perinatal technologies of Project of Mother and Infant health care.

Directions of work: a grant of stationary obstetric help to pregnant women, women in child-birth after modern perinatal technologies.

Work of the department is organized according to the principle of individual maternity halls, domestic maternity rooms of the closed cycle (a woman in this room gives birth and till the discharge). A modern operating block functions in the department.

Maternity department №2 is equipped with a modern apparatus which is needed for conducting delivery.

Post-natal chambers are meant for the compatible stay of a mother and a child. During a delivery a close person chosen by a woman is present. Individual maternity halls are equipped with baths, balls for fitness, Swedish walls which diminish pain during delivery.

The skilled specialists provide 24-hours help, conduct daily operative interferences planned and urgent caesarian sections with modern resolving material. After a caesar section a child is laid out on fathers breasts for settling the child’s skin with domestic microflora.

Nearly 1000 pregnant women give birth in the department a year. The new-borns have breast feeding only.

Sanitary educational work on the questions of breast feeding, looking after new-born and post-natal concentration is conducted in department.

A woman with a baby can be taken home in 3 days of delivery and after a caesarian section - in 5 days.
